In conjunction with Royal Enfield dealers, when you buy your new Royal Enfield, you are entitled to join the club for free for the remainder of the financial year.

This gives new Royal Enfield owners an opportunity to meet the club and go on some rides with us before committing to paying for a membership.

This program is also a handy selling point for dealers as many first time motorcycle buyers choose the Royal Enfield models due to them being easy to ride, learner approved and low financial outlay.

For new riders,  our Club organised rides take the hassle out of trip planning, navigation, fuel stops, and arranging accomodation and meals

Our Free Membership offer also instantly gives you some mates to ride with and potentially become lifelong friends.

The purpose of the Club is to provide a place for likeminded motorcycle enthusiasts to get together to enjoy their motorcycles, to go on rides and talk about their machines.

  Member Experience

” Back in 2012 I was riding thru Sydney’s Inner West one day and saw a guy on an historic looking single cylinder military spec bike that I had not seen before. I followed him for a while and noticed that it had a disc front brake and quickly realised that it was in fact a new model. I googled it when I got home and found that they were made in India but there was a Sydney Royal Enfield dealer.

At the time I had only ridden dirt bikes but always wanted some sort of classic road bike just to cruise around on, go to a cafe for breakfast or the beach for fish and chips. I did not want a big Harley or a BMW tourer or a Jap sport bike so the Royal Enfield ticked all the boxes.

I contacted the dealer, Motociclo, and went and checked out the bikes and decided to buy my first road bike which was a Classic 500 and was told that the bike came with a free membership to the Royal Enfield Club. By chance, the Vice President of the Club back then, was at the dealer when I picked the bike up and he invited me to come to their next monthly meeting and that I really should come along and meet everyone, which I did.

At the meeting I was advised there was a weekend away coming up out to country NSW that I would really enjoy. The next thing I know I am buying wet weather gear and saddle bags in order to attend the ride. It was my first of many motorcycle adventures, so much for cafes and fish shops.

I have now done well over 70,000kms of motorcycle trips with the Club, riding with great mates to places like Tasmania and South Australia and all over NSW and VIC that I would never had done, with people that I would never had met if I had not purchased a Royal Enfield and joined the Royal Enfield Club of Australia.”

Activities

Monthly social gatherings happen in Melbourne on the last Tuesday of the month at the Racecourse Hotel, Malvern East and in Sydney on the first Wednesday of the month at the Tollgate Hotel, North Parramatta. Both venues usually have a table reserved for us in the Bistro area.

These are informal social get togethers where members can have a meal and discuss upcoming rides, talk about their bikes and what they have been doing.

Rides

Rides are organised on weekends from time to time by members in both Sydney and Melbourne.

In Sydney, the group usually arranges a few weekends away each year in the NSW country staying overnight as well as some day rides on weekends and weekdays.

Bruce Walker, past President of both RECOAinc and Hills Ulysses Branch, organises a fortnightly Wednesday combined RECOAinc and Ulysses ride in the Hills District in Sydney’s northwest. Usually meeting for coffee and then riding to a lunch destination via various scenic route options in the area – Since its inception in about 2020, many have become members of both clubs with quite a number of Ulysses members buying Royal Enfields and joining the Club after attending rides.

In Victoria, day rides are organised on an ad hoc basis with weekend or overnight rides including the Volcanic Plains Rally, Snake Valley Antidote, the Wandering
Wimmera Wonder and the Thorpdale Ramble.
